2009 - 2010 Program
We meet at 11:00 am on the fourth Monday of the month at
St. John's United Church
, Davis Bay.
Each monthly meeting includes a business meeting, a buffet lunch, as well as a program.

September 28: Jon Bell of the Sechelt Market talks about a favourite topic -- food.

October 26: Nancy Baker and the Community Garden.

November 23:  Jean Bennett, Dean of Capilano University, Sechelt Campus, on what the change to university status means to us. An important development for the Coast.

December 7: Christmas Party - at Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club.


January 25: Gardening for the Faint of Heart with author Robin Wheeler
 
February 22: Members share ideas about what we can see or do on the coast. A lively, interactive meeting chaired by Diane Gladman.

March 22: Tony Greenfield, photographer: What can we see on the Coast? A new way of 'seeing.'

April 26: Barbara Higgins of the Sechelt Band talks about her Canoe family and about food gathering.  It will be interesting to hear about some traditions and a heritage of self-sufficiency.

May 24: Dorothy Fraser brings us the Great Canadian Quiz, a hit with members and fun.

June: Luncheon  - SC Golf & Country Club

MEETINGS
General Membership - 4th Monday of each month, September to June at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's United Church, Davis Bay Road, Sechelt (Davis Bay). Speakers are invited and a light lunch is served. The lunch is provided for each meeting by members on a sign-up basis and there is a $5.00 charge.  The December and June meetings take the form of a social event for members.

The Executive meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. The Board is elected every year at the Annual General Meeting in May from a slate drawn up by a three-member nominating committee, chaired by the Past President. Those elected serve a one-year term, beginning July 1, which may be extended for a second year. Under extraordinary conditions, a reappointment may be made for one additional year only.
